The Emerging Artists and Practices Committee

The Emerging Artists and Practices Committee (French acronym RPÉ)

Culture Montréal recognizes the creative contribution of emerging artists and practices in the evolution of artistic forms and the development of a unique Montreal cultural landscape.

Our organization wishes to contribute to the improvement of their artistic endeavours and to their integration into the cultural medium. This was crystallized in 2005 by the creation of the the Emerging Artists and Practices Comitee (RPÉ).

Eager to link itself with other initiatives dedicated to the development of changing and emerging practices, the Committee collaborates with the Forum jeunesse de l’île de Montréal‘s ‘Outiller la relève artistique montréalaise 2005-2007′ (Providing Tools for Emerging Artists) Project.

Acting complementary, the RPÉ Comitee centres its work on policies and structures while the persons in charge of the Outiller la relève artistique montréalaise Projectconcentrate on creation, distribution and training.

The work from this committee helps artists and organizations of all regions and artistic disciplines. Since its creation, it has taken part in events for emergent artists, organized consultation meetings and dialogues, launched activities supporting networking and produced a report on the situation and these emergent artists and practices.
