This seminar allows participants to better understand how social media (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc.) can contribute to the effective branding of cultural organizations or projects; enrich your relationship with members and followers, and help you increase your audience. This seminar is given by Mr. Philippe Ravanas, marketing specialist, Chairperson of the Arts, Entertainment and Media Management Department and Coordinator/Faculty Advisor for Sports Management at Columbia College (Chicago).


Mr. Ravanas is the former V.P. of Corporate Communications for Euro Disney in Paris, and the former V.P. of Client Development Worldwide for Christie’s in London. He is a consultant for the National Geographic Society, the World Trade Organization – ITC, Cendant Intercultural, and the Arts and Business Council of America. He has provided Marketing advices to many cultural institutions, including the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival, the Richmond Art Center, San Francisco’s Magic theatre, Berkeley’s Small Press Distribution, Chicago’s Famous Door Theatre, Boston’s Revels and Merrimack Repertory Theatre. He is a member of the Program Committee of the Illinois Arts Alliance, of the Educational Committee of the Chicago International Film Festival, of the Historic Society of Chicago, and of the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust. He is a musician.

* We offer a limited number of seats at a special rate to members of small cultural organizations. Seats are attributed on a firs-come, first-served basis.


All participants will receive a free copy of the “Planification du marketing pour la culture et les arts” manual (retail value of $ 50).
